28.6.2014, manjine.ba – Revision of Law on prohibition of discrimination in BiH?

Civil society organizations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, amongst whom is also Sarajevo open center, have sent at the end of Paril open letter to the Council of Ministers of BiH, Direction for European integrations of BiH, Delegation of European Union in BiH and European Commission, with message that structured dialogue have to be more transparent and focused to the wider specter of needs of Bosnian citizens. After the Plenar meeting of Structural dialogue between the European Union and BiH about justice and additional issues about rule of law, European Commission have sent on 13th and 14th May recommendations in which, amongst other things, called on BiH authorities to define the sexual orientation and gender identity in law.

Regarding the issue of revision of Law about prohibition of discrimination, strengthening of preventive measures and further collection and exchange of relevant infromation and statistic data, European Commission expects from the Ministry for human rights and refugees to consider bringing of significant changes and amendments, so that this law would be harmonized with EU acquis.
