LAZAREVAC – More than 90 people, mostly Roma from Veliki Crljeni, live already for two months in collective accommodation in Lazarevac sports center because they were left without roof over head in floods in May. They were visited today by the minister for work, employment and social issues Aleksandar Vulin, who also brought help for them.
Majority of them is from the non-hygienic settlement near the power-plant Kolubara, but also there are those who were homeless before the floods and they all ask to be cared, it was said during the visit of minister Vulin. “Local self-government in Lazarevac is making great efforts to solve the issue but it cannot do it alone, state needs to help”, said Vulin to journalists and thanked to medicine staff and volunteers who are taking care about those people.
He highlighted that there are some proposals for the housing of those people and it will be discussed about that with institutions that may help, as he said.
